Sudborough Green Lodge is a hub for creativity and collaboration aimed at the interpretation of ‘environment’ in the widest sense, which brings projects of the highest international quality to the area. The Lodge, situated deep within Fermyn Woods, operates as a residency site for visiting artists and includes facilities for an integrated Learning Programme for the local community and other visitors.

Fermyn Woods are ancient woodlands containing semi-natural oak and ash woods, along with conifer plantations. The woods were managed as coppices for many centuries, a practice that will begin again as the woods are converted to semi-natural broadleaf woodland under the ‘Ancient Woodland Project’.

The site is a partnership project between Fermynwoods Contemporary Art and The Forestry Commission. The buildings were renovated through River Nene Regional Park and Arts Council England who have funded the project to date.

Outside of residency periods the Lodge is available to hire at modest rates.
