Andrew Eden: A45 Ten Miles
New
Exhibition in Northampton.
October 25th - November 9th 2003
Open Sat, Sun, Wed, Thurs, Fri, through these dates.
2pm - 6pm
New Gallery (former
EMF factory)
Dunster Street,
Northampton.
Andrew's exhibition shows a set of sculptures that
were inspired by the lay-bys, roundabouts, verges and road junctions on
the A45 between Wellingborough and Northampton.
Andrew Eden began by taking drawings from the roadside and views of the
road as seen from a moving vehicle. From these fleeting glimpses he made
small models using the shapes and forms he had found. These are the basis
of the larger scale pieces made with reinforced epoxy resin.
The road is also shown as a series of postcards, showing the sites used
for the sculptures.
This event is supported by the Arts Council of England, Northampton Borough
Council, Clayson Lofts and Fermynwoods Contemporary Art.
