Fermynwoods Bulletin: Issue 10

Our Summer 2016 bulletin features information about Beyond Seven Mountains, an exhibition in Corby’s woodland, drawing on the way Central and Eastern European fairy tales and folk stories begin; “A long time ago, beyond seven mountains, beyond seven forests”, referring to the way contemporary artists continue the tradition of storytellers, reinventing myths and legends, to create new folklore for our time.

Also featured is I Bring My Body To This Place To Observe The Coming And Going Of Life, Jason Singh’s sound installation which explores themes of home, separation and migration for both people and wildlife.

Fermynwoods Bulletin: Issue 8

The Summer 2013 bulletin features information about Make Believe; Re-Imagining History & Landscape, where invited artists respond to the unique site of Nottingham Castle to intervene through temporary artwork that provokes imagination, adds layers of ambiguity and invites us to bring to bear our own experiences, memories and associations.

Also featured is Habitat, a series of artists in residence and temporary, site-responsive interventions and sculptures in Barnwell Country Park, exploring real and imaginary places where people and wildlife co-exist.

Plus the Gesture project comes to an end with Quadrature, an exhibition by Artist in Residence, Virginie Litzler; and Touch Stone, a performance by Salamanda Tandem’s team of sighted and visually impaired performers, both taking place at the Cube in Corby.

Fermynwoods Bulletin: Issue 4


 

Our Summer 2011 bulletin features information on ‘ENCOUNTERS: Journeys through language and landscape’, a series of temporary artist installations and interventions, performances and artist led walks, along a three mile route from Fermyn Woods Country Park to Lyveden New Bield, as part of Northamptonshire’s Cultural Olympiad Igniting Ambition programme.

ENCOUNTERS features work by Jitish Kallat, Tellervo Kalleinen & Oliver Kochta-Kalleinen/Paula Boulton, Rebecca Lee, Graeme Miller, Shane Waltener and Caroline Wright; installations by students from Meadowside Primary School and Keely Mills; and artist led walks by Rebecca Lee, Alison Lloyd and Sue Stewart.

The bulletin also contains information about our development of Sudborough Green Lodge into an arts, research and education laboratory as well as details of how to submit work for the next Open Online exhibition.

Our Spring 2011 bulletin is now available online

Showcasing our inaugural Open Online exhibition, plus our forthcoming artistic programme including:

Active Ingredient’s A Conversation Between Trees residency and installation at Fineshade Woods;

Interchange, Fermynwoods’ fortnight of artistic activity and dialogue along the Grand Union Canal and River Nene in Northamptonshire with David Littler, Jo Roberts and Simon Woolham;

And introduces two participatory projects which will form part of the summer Encounters, journeys through language and landscape exhibition; Tellervo Kalleinen and Oliver Kochta-Kalleinen’s Complaints Choir and Rebecca Lee’s Organ.
