At Fermynwoods art is an integral part of our home, originally built as a water tower. Exhibitions are free of the formality of the museum or public gallery. At Fermynwoods art is part of the everyday environment, enabling the visitor to imagine art in their own home.

A wide selection of work on offer
Fermynwoods offers a wide selection of unique work of the highest calibre, with opportunities to invest in art by established artists and to support emerging talent. Editioned prints offer a means for the collector with a modest budget to collect works by recognised artists.

A machine for seeing with
Jim Ede, founder of Kettle's Yard, Cambridge recognised art as 'a way of life'.

Art is a visual language that can say things to us, in a way that writing and words cannot. Sometimes art communicates in an overt way through a code of recognised symbols, as for example figurative painting often does, but it also communicates on other emotional or subconscious levels. In this way, art becomes 'a machine for seeing with'. The best art changes our individual perception of the world to the benefit of a sense of personal well being.

The everyday experience of art is therefore a matter of how one looks at things around us; if art gains life by being lived with, the home is given an immense addition by art.
