Curated by artist Michael Shaw, Drawn to Sculpture brought together the work of seven artists including Doug Cocker, Lars Englund, Nigel Hall, Deborah Harty, Julia Mangold, Joanna Mowbray & Michael Shaw. The exhibition explored how artists use the properties of drawing & mark-making to inform their practice; prior to, & during the process of making sculpture. It revealed how sculptors manipulate the unique qualities of the drawn line to inform the finished sculptural object & provides a platform for the problem solving of ideas, generation of form, investigation of materials, & examination into the very meaning of sculpture itself.

This diverse & intriguing exhibition coincided with the major retrospective by Nigel Hall at Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
