The Tate Galleries have collaborated with Aardman Animation, the company behind Wallace and Gromit, to create The Tate Movie, an animation film made by and for children in the UK.

Thanks to Fermynwoods Contemporary Art and Corby Borough Council, over 100 children in Corby had the chance to participate in this unique event.

The Tate Movie Truck Roadshow called at West Glebe Pavilion in Corby where local children took part in animation workshops using some of the Tate’s great art collection as inspiration.

Children created their own characters and catchphrases, utilising the Movie Truck’s onboard sound studio and stop frame animation equipment to bring them to life.

Following storyboarding workshops at the four Tate galleries, all work created on the day will go forward for selection by Aardman for inclusion in the forthcoming film.
