Probotics

November 2010 – June 2011

In November 2010, Fermynwoods commissioned Tree, an interactive artwork by Simon Heijdens, in Corby.

Following on from this installation, our Education Officer James Steventon developed a series of workshops for schools exploring the connections between drawing and new interactive technologies, covering Maths, ICT and Art & Design curriculum areas.

For Primary Schools these workshops focused on the use of a Probot (programmable robot) and the accompanying Probotix software, aiming to link with several curriculum areas, most specifically

Key Stage 1
Art & Design 4b, 5c, 5d
ICT 2c, 5b, 5c
Maths Ma3 2a, Ma3 2c, Ma3 3b

Key Stage 2
Art & Design 2c, 5c, 5d
ICT 2b, 4b, 5c
Maths Ma2 1b, Ma3 2a, Ma3 3b
