A partnership project between Watch This Space, The National Trust & Fermynwoods Contemporary Art saw the history of Lyveden New Bield & its connection to the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, brought to life in an outdoor spectacular using a cutting edge combination of digital art, lighting, sound, performance & fireworks.
We engaged Watch This Space to work with BTEC Performing Arts Students from The Kingswood School, Corby. Following some intensive training, students performed the key areas of the spectacular to over 1,000 members of the public over the two nights.
Several students from Tresham College’s FdA Foundation Degree in Fine Art course shadowed various members of the our team as part of their Work-based Learning in the Arts module, giving them a unique opportunity to see a live arts event in a strategic context & the various processes through which artistic knowledge is applied in the workplace.
Artist Sophie Cullinan was also commissioned to work with Brigstock Primary School, to help engage with their local history. Sophie worked with every child at the school, each creating an illuminated ‘fire totem’, which on mass formed a key part of the evenings’ aesthetic.
