The Tate Galleries are collaborating with Aardman Animation, the company behind Wallace and Gromit, to create The Tate Movie, an animation film made by and for children in the UK.
Thanks to Fermynwoods Contemporary Art, children in Corby will have the chance to participate in this unique event.
The Tate Movie project will provide the creative and practical tools for children to engage with the great art from the Tate collections, inspiring 5-11 year olds to contribute their ideas to the animated movie. Children will be involved in every aspect of the film, from hand drawn characters and plot twists, down to costumes and cosmic sound effects.
In addition to storyline production workshops held at the four Tate galleries, the Movie Truck Roadshow will be visiting hard to reach areas across the country, allowing children who do not have regular access to Galleries, Museums and Arts Centres, to take part.
The Movie Truck will be visiting Corby on 3rd August, calling at West Glebe Pavilion off Cottingham Road from 09:30 until 15:00.
The event is free but will operate on a first come first served basis. To book a place on a 1 hour session, please contact Corby Borough Council on
